Monica Lewis

Special Education Coordinator

Working as an educator for 2o years has brought me joy and fulfillment. Over the span of my career, I have worked as a special education teacher, assistant principal, instructional coach, instructional support specialist, and most recently a special education director. Although I have had many roles, I am motivated to collaborate and strengthen my knowledge as an educator because I believe it is important to find effective ways to motivate, teach, and support students.

Having always lived in Utah, I have a fond appreciation for the various communities in which I have had the opportunity to reside. My husband, Shay, and I were both raised in Carbon County, but it wasn’t until many years after graduating from Utah State University that our paths crossed. We have two little boys, Ridgely (6 years old) and Renton (2 years old), as well as a fur baby, Aspen.

As a family, we enjoy spending time in the outdoors where we enjoy fishing and watching wildlife. Painting, attending concerts and art festivals, and entertaining family and friends are additional ways I spend my free time.

I look forward to being part of the Soldier Hollow team and meeting the parents and students with whom I will have the privilege to work.
