Miss Jill believes in establishing genuine connections with each student. Adept at recognizing and meeting the needs of the individual, she cultivates an environment where each child can rise to their full potential. She believes learning should be an engaging, hands-on experience and strives every day to make school a joyful place to be.
We refer to ourselves as a class family, and from the moment you step in our door you can see why. We place equal focus on social emotional and academic learning and often refer to our class motto, “kind voice, kind hands, kind heart” throughout the school day. In our classroom we learn through song, movement, nature and art about ourselves and the world around us.
With a low student-to-teacher ratio, our preschool is able to reinforce emotional and sensory development through nature exploration, mindfulness, and creative play. We incorporate kindergarten readiness skills through outdoor, hands-on learning experiences as well as indoor foundational learning experiences. We emphasize a respect for each other, our environment, and the natural world.
“The preschool program at Solider Hollow Charter School isn’t your average preschool – in fact, it’s extraordinary in every way. From discovering the natural world to learning their ABC’s, in Miss Jill’s classroom children are given the opportunity to discover their best selves through creative play and guided exploration. One aspect of Miss Jill’s curriculum I particularly love is her focus on mindfulness, kindness, and community. My child is not only prepared for Kindergarten academically but has learned critical social skills, like kindness and compassion, thanks to the unique and wonderful environment created by Miss Jill. “
"The preschool program at Soldier Hollow Charter School has provided a caring and focused learning environment to make a difference for my son. By supporting his developmental stages, he is excited to attend school and develop friendships. His positive educational experiences have strengthened his confidence and motivation to learn."
