How Important is
Our PTO?

Our PTO is a a group of dedicated and enthusiastic volunteer parents who take charge of our biggest fundraising and special events at the school. These parents not only understand the importance of these events for our school community but also go above and beyond to ensure their success. Their efforts not only raise vital funds for our school but also create memorable experiences for our students and their families. With their unwavering commitment and tireless work, our volunteer parents truly make a difference in the success of our school's events, fostering a strong sense of community and support.

There is no fee to be a part of our PTO… only the desire to help! Your involvement can be all year or at certain times, depending on the event. Find out what works best for you!

Why Join our PTO?

One of the biggest benefits of having your children attend Soldier Hollow is the opportunity to be so involved in the school. Work directly with teachers and staff to share your voice and ideas to help improve our students' experiences. Our PTO oversees our fundraising events, book fairs, Field Day, our school Olympics, and Teacher Appreciation Day.

Be a part of the team! Contact Amie here with any questions about how you can get involved!

1. Our volunteers make SHCS better

Our teachers and staff are incredibly resourceful when it comes to getting students what they need, but given the opportunity to work with parents, the gains can be so much stronger. We love the unique assistance that parents can give.

Through fundraising efforts, special skills, and simply offering a helping hand, our PTO involvement helps parents make noticeable, long-term improvements for our school. Best of all, our kids are proud of their PTO parents!

2. Your kids will benefit

When parents get connected to the school, children get better grades, do better on tests, and have fewer discipline problems. PTO involvement helps you build a good relationship with your child’s teachers, principal, and office staff for stronger communication throughout the year.

3. You can play to your strengths

Whether you have a full time or part time job or are a stay at home parent, there is a role to play that fits your lifestyle and time constraints. Our PTO welcomes new ideas and skills. Volunteering is so much more enjoyable when you are able to use your natural talents. When you are doing what you are good at and enjoy, volunteering becomes that much for fun and rewarding.

4. Meet other parents

The common bond our parents share is that they care about creating the best possible educational experience for their kids. Through their children, parents often make new friends and connections. PTO involvement is a great way to develop relationships with other parents and teachers so you can be more in the know of the schools latest events and happenings.

PTO functions are opportunities to meet other parents and teachers and discuss issues that are on your mind. You can share ideas, concerns, and experiences to make the school year better for everyone.

5. You can be part of the solution

Children spend so much of their time at school. Being involved at the school in any way shows them that you are invested in their education. It also shows them the importance of being part of a larger community. Being a part of the PTO gives you the opportunity to role model the value of working together as a part of something bigger to make positive changes.

We are so appreciative of our PTO and the time they put in throughout the school year. Get involved with the PTO to have a direct hand at organizing fun social events and fundraisers for the school. Whether you can help a little or a lot, every little bit makes a difference!
